Finley Exhibit Opening Night Friends' Reception

  • February 21, 2014
  • 7:00 PM
  • Riparian Room, 19255 SW Pacific Hwy, Sherwood OR 97140

All Friends members are invited to attend this opening night celebration of an exhibit featuring prints from original glass photographic plates by William L. Finley and Herman Bohlman. Not a Friends member? Not a problem, as you can join the evening of the event and enjoy the festivities. Special guests will be on hand, including the National Chief of Refuges and the Regional Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The Friends will also be receiving an award from the National Wildlife Refuge Association. Light refreshments will be served.

The exhibit is from the collection of the Washington County Museum and curated for “Put a Bird on it: Nature Photography of William L. Finley 1876-1953.” The exhibit highlights Finley’s important role in the early development of Oregon's national wildlife refuges for which he advocated so tirelessly.

The exhibit will run through August 2014 and is open to the public on Saturdays & Sundays from 10:00am-4:00pm.
