Joyfully Connecting Our Community with the Wonder of the Refuge

Bioswale Work Party

  • September 19, 2014
  • 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM
  • Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge

Help support native plant species in the Refuge Bioswale! This incredible space provides educational opportunities for visitors and sustenance for local species. The Bioswale is surrounded by meadows where nonnative plants have a stronghold. The prevailing SW winds re-infest seeds onto the comfy bark chips, making efforts to eradicate them just that much more difficult. Join some a team of volunteers and Master Gardeners who attend the work parties regularly! Bring your own gloves, favorite weeding tools and water; training and fun provided! If you're interested in learning more about native flora through a hands on experience under the tutelage of a passionate botanist, please join us in supporting this incredible area of the Refuge!
