Joyfully Connecting Our Community with the Wonder of the Refuge

National Public Lands Day

  • September 12, 2015
  • 8:45 AM - 12:00 PM
  • 19255 SW Pacific Hwy, Sherwood OR 97140

The Friends of Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge are proud to host an event celebrating National Public Lands Day. This year we will be removing invasive cocklebur plants from the main Atfalati unit on the Refuge. Join us as we celebrate National Public Lands Day, and help us maintain a healthy living environment for our wildlife.

REI, Inc. is our event sponsor again this year and will be giving away T-Shirts to all volunteers while supplies last.

In addition, we’ll hand out a coupon good for one day of waived entrance fees or day use fees at Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service or USDA Forest Service lands. The coupon is good through September 24, 2016.

Wear work clothes and gloves, and bring a water bottle. We will be walking on uneven grounds, so wear sturdy shoes. We’ll provide water, snacks, and the tools needed to do the job.
